Quinta do Infantado The Quinta do Infantado Biológico red wine comes from Class A vineyards, the highest classification in the Douro Demarcated Region. The Pousado vineyard, the youngest in Quinta do Infantado, was planted in 1998 and has been farmed organically under certification since that year. This red wine is made from a blend of three grape varieties from a single plot: Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, and Tinta Roriz. The plot faces North-Northeast, has little schist, and is crossed by the Covas stream, all of which contribute to the wine's freshness and lightness. Winemaking: Grapes are transported in 20 kg crates. Mechanical crushing with partial destemming. Fermentation in a lagar with mechanical foot-treading. Indigenous yeasts. Malolactic fermentation in stainless steel tanks. Aged in tank and in new and used French oak barrels. Bottled at the estate, unfined and unfiltered.
