This Moscatel, clearly having spent a good 20 years quietly maturing, hints at a rather peculiar alchemy. The nose is intensely evocative, presenting iodine and rust notes reminiscent of a skilled physician’s laboratory, alongside hints of caramelised glacé and dates – a combination that undeniably leans into almost medicinal territory. Remarkably fresh and taut considering the 290g/l residual sugar, with a vibrant 6.52g/l acidity, it’s a truly exceptional wine from the Setúbal Peninsula. A fantastic accompaniment to a well-aged, hard cheese, wouldn't you agree?
