This white from Quinta do Pinto, boldly blending Viognier and Chardonnay, certainly doesn't shy away from excitement. Harvested under the stars on August 22nd and 27th – a rather dramatic affair, it seems – the grapes delivered a wine of remarkable texture and complexity, earning a respectable 90 points from Wine Enthusiast. The fermentation, split between concrete tanks and French oak barrels, added a lovely, creamy batonage, resulting in a truly elegant palate and a modest 13% alcohol. Perfect with seafood, or just to indulge in the sheer cleverness of this wine.
