This Bairrada wine from Quinta do Poço do Lobo is a delightful reminder that patience and good taste still have a place in the world. The grapes, harvested at the precise moment, underwent careful, temperature-controlled maceration at 10°C before being pressed and fermented in French oak barrels – a classic touch that beautifully balances the fruit with the wood. The 5-month battonage added a remarkable level of complexity, while the extended lees aging for 8 months simply refined the flavour. An excellent pairing for rich fish, oysters, or seafood, or even to impress with leaner meats. And, of course, it earned a prestigious award at the International Wine Challenge in 2015 – a testament to the quality you can consistently expect from this estate.
