The Sanguinhal Agricultural Company was founded in the 1920s by Abel Pereira da Fonseca in the Bombarral region. At that time, Abel Pereira da Fonseca owned the largest network of public wine‑sale establishments in the country, and he leveraged that position to create a company dedicated solely to the production and trade of wines. The Sanguinhal Agricultural Company consists of three estates: Quinta do Sanguinhal, Quinta das Cerejeiras, and Quinta de São Francisco, all located in the Lisbon Wine Region, specifically within the Demarcated Region of Óbidos. Here the properties benefit from a microclimate shaped by the Serra de Montejunto and the Atlantic Ocean, giving the still, fortified, and spirit wines a fresh and balanced profile that highlights their unique character.
