Born from a vineyard cherished by the Simões family since 1997 in the heart of the Dão, it’s a testament to generations of dedication. The blend of Alfrocheiro, Jaen, Aragonez, and Touriga Nacional is handled with the utmost care, from hand-harvesting in 18kg boxes to carefully controlled maceration in stainless steel. The result is a wine of deep ruby colour, exhibiting notes of vanilla and cocoa – as if it had spent a short time in a second-use French oak barrique – but retaining a wonderfully refreshing vibrancy that elevates its elegance. It’s a beautifully balanced wine with a lingering finish reminiscent of white pepper and cinnamon, a genuine pleasure for the palate. Quite lovely with a perfectly grilled beef, wouldn’t you say?”
