“This Cabernet Sauvignon from Quinta do Valdoeiro, hailing from the Bairrada and crafted by the Messias family, is a testament to the virtues of patience. Following 130 hectares of vineyard – and meticulous control of the grapes, of course! – the result is a wine that immediately impresses with a deep, ruby colour. The nose reveals a delightful complexity, reminiscent of ripe blackcurrant, cassis and a subtle, dried herbaceous note; a clear indication of the Vacariça terroir’s influence. On the palate, it's full-bodied, velvety, with powerful tannins that are elegantly integrated, beautifully highlighting red fruit and spice notes, finishing with a remarkably persistent and memorable impression. A fantastic accompaniment to a hearty beef roast – it really deserves a dish to elevate it.”
