This Quinta dos Avidagos Reserva, dating back to 1670, is a delightfully rebellious wine. Built on a firm structure thanks to Touriga Nacional and Aragonez, it’s a wine that Robert Parker himself awarded 90 points for – a testament to its vibrant red fruit intensity. Hints of floral and spicy notes, reminiscent of a little indulgence, linger on the palate alongside wonderfully smooth tannins and a satisfyingly long finish. Seriously, it’s begging for a perfectly grilled steak, or perhaps a bold, characterful aged cheese.
