This Quinta dos Poços wine, crafted by enólogo António Narciso, is a beautiful embodiment of Douro tradition. The schistous soils and Atlantic/Mediterranean climate contribute to a wine with a truly distinctive character, thanks to the use of century-old grapes – Tinta Barroca, Sousão, Touriga Nacional, Aragonez, and Tinto Cão. The ancient technique of foot treading in granite lagares produces a complex wine with notes of cooked red fruit, finishing elegantly after a 12-month aging in used French oak barrels. It’s a wine that pairs wonderfully with richer meats or strong cheeses – a testament to a Quinta that even Napoleon graced!
