The Quinta Nova de Nossa Senhora do Carmo is a place of extraordinary beauty, in the heart of the Douro, and has been owned by the Amorim family since 1999. The family’s connection to wine comes from afar, through their ties to export houses in Vila Nova de Gaia via the cork business, but this link ultimately became the fulfilment of a dream, and the project is now in the hands of the fourth generation. With a history of more than 250 years, the estate showcases a preserved trace and the original 1764 cellar building, after interventions carried out by architect Arnaldo Barbosa (illustrative image).
