The Quinta Nova of Nossa Senhora do Carmo is an exceptionally beautiful site in the heart of the Douro, owned by the Amorim family since 1999. The family’s wine ties come from afar, linked to exporting houses in Vila Nova de Gaia through the cork trade, but this connection eventually turned a dream into reality, and the project now rests with the fourth generation. With a heritage of over 250 years, the estate showcases a preserved layout and the original 1764 cellar building, after interventions by architect Arnaldo Barbosa. (illustrative image only)
