Quinta Nova de Nossa Senhora do Carmo is a place of extraordinary beauty, in the heart of the Douro, and has been owned by the Amorim family since 1999. The family's link to wine goes back far, through their ties to export houses in Vila Nova de Gaia via the cork trade, but at that time this connection turned into the fulfilment of a dream and the project is now in the hands of the fourth generation. With a history of over 250 years, the estate showcases a preserved trace and the original 1764 winery building, after interventions by architect Arnaldo Barbosa. (image purely illustrative)
