This Quinta São João Batista wine is a bold statement, anchored by Touriga Nacional and lifted with a touch of Cabernet Sauvignon. The deep, granite-hued colour hints at the vibrant freshness of red berries – blackcurrant and blackberry – as if plucked straight from the bush. Extended, skin contact maceration combined with barrel ageing – predominantly French oak – delivers a powerful mouthfeel that demands attention, yet balanced by remarkably smooth tannins. Seriously good with a hearty red meat dish, or perhaps a slow-roasted pork shoulder.
