Rabo De Gala Kosher Tinto

Description

This wine was aged in oak barrels and displays a beautiful ruby colour with aromatic notes of red fruit. On the palate it offers good structure, balance and elegance, with flavours of wild berries and spices, finishing long and fruity. The properties of Casa Santos Lima are located in the municipality of Alenquer, 45 km north of Lisbon, in a region where winemaking tradition is centuries old and the typical rural landscapes appear with great beauty. The vines spread across gentle slopes at altitudes between 100 and 220 m, with excellent sun exposure and a climate moderated by the gentle sea breeze from the Atlantic Ocean, about 26 km away. The predominant soil type is clay‑limestone from the Upper Jurassic period, with numerous examples of marine fossils and even dinosaur traces (Apatosaurus alenquerensis). The vineyard has been replanted at a regular pace since 1990, with the finest Portuguese varieties, which here exhibit a unique regional character, and to a lesser extent the best international grapes. In the more than 200 hectares of the Santos Lima family estate, a vast diversity of grape varieties can be found. The kosher wine is produced in accordance with Jewish dietary laws (kashrut). To be considered kosher, it must be made by observant Jews and use kosher equipment and ingredients. This production covers a range of styles, from reds and whites to sparkling wines, with many vintners focusing on quality.
