The Remírez de Ganuza range reflects the essence of Fernando Remírez de Ganuza’s wines. They are made solely from the best grape clusters, harvested from vines averaging 70 years old and aged in new French and American oak barrels. Founded in 1989 by Fernando Remírez de Ganuza, Bodegas Remírez de Ganuza has always operated under the premise of a rigorous grape‑selection process and minimal intervention in winemaking. Over the years, new production and ageing techniques have been introduced to continually improve product quality and meet current market demands. The winery sits in the centre of Samaniego, Álava, surrounded by a village of wandering old buildings, so the cellars were designed to blend seamlessly into the landscape. In 2010 José Ramón Urtasun joined the company started by Fernando, ushering in a new chapter for Bodegas Remírez de Ganuza. (illustrative image)
