This Ribeiro del Duero Grande Escolha is a wine that clearly honours tradition, yet embraces a contemporary sensibility. Harvested late in September – with a carefully chosen blend of Alfrocheiro, Aragonez, Tinto Cão and Touriga Nacional – it delivers a wine of considerable character and complexity. The extraction of colour and aromas, achieved through foot treading and small stainless steel lagars, imparts a velvety texture and wild fruit notes, beautifully complemented by smoky nuances. Following a 14-month ageing in French oak, the wine retains a remarkably fresh finish, promising to pair wonderfully with a hearty beef roast.
