This Rocim is a delightful little surprise from Vidigueira – it seems the microclimate there is actively trying to produce exceptional wines. The Touriga Nacional, harvested with a keen desire for freshness, underwent a 12-month ageing on its lees, resulting in a beautiful salmon hue. Grown on granite and schistous soils, facing East-West, and sourced from a south-facing parcel, this wine boasts a truly distinctive character. Notably, it was crowned “Best Sparkling Wine of 2016” by *Melhores do Ano*, a verdict that’s admittedly hard to argue with – perfect paired with a seafood amuse-bouche, or perhaps something a little bolder.
