Ana Rola, alongside her friend Helga Rodrigues, are all about bottling the very soul of the Douro, using those iconic Touriga Nacional and Touriga Franca grapes. That unusually hot winter and scorching summer pushed for an early maturation, resulting in a wine with a wonderfully vibrant acidity and a surprising layer of complexity. After a gentle fermentation in stainless steel tanks, it spent 15 months in French oak barrels, polishing its character beautifully. Seriously, it pairs brilliantly with white and red meats, or elevate a good quality cheese – a wine designed to be savoured slowly.”
