Esporão was born in Alentejo from an unconditional desire to make the finest wines. This motivation is the legacy of all the wines it produces and the main reason the company has expanded its range to other products and territories. Quinta dos Murças, located in the heart of the Douro Controlled Designation of Origin, is characterized by eight distinct terroirs shaped by the mountains, varying altitudes and sun exposures, schist soils, and the climate typical of the Douro River valley. Dozens of indigenous grape varieties are planted in the vineyards, which are cultivated according to Organic Production and Integrated Production standards. Olive trees, orange trees, almond trees, and Mediterranean scrubland help maintain the balance of the ecosystem. (illustrative image only)
