According to its age, the wines may show signs of time, such as dust on the bottles and/or some damage to the labels—common in wines that have been stored for decades. The National Cellar stores all wines at the correct temperature and humidity but always preserves the visual appearance associated with their age. We typically choose the brands/regions that usually perform well in vintage wine tastings. However, wine is a living organism that, like everything else, is exposed to time, and even within a bottle its aromas can evolve in different ways. Therefore, the National Cellar cannot be held responsible for the quality of the wine, as it is an aged wine. Our recommendation is to open the bottle and let it breathe first, as this will help release the wine’s natural aromas after so many years sealed. Avoid decanting, as it can be too aggressive for old wines. (illustrative image)
