The House of Sandeman was founded in London in 1790 by George Sandeman, a young Scotsman from Perth who decided to invest £300 borrowed from his father to launch a business selling Port and Jerez wines. Always pioneering, Sandeman was the first company to blaze a bottle with its name, guaranteeing the quality of the wine it marketed. Over more than two centuries, Sandeman’s success has been based on a rare capacity for innovation and on knowledge passed down from generation to generation. Today, led by the Portuguese company Sogrape Vinhos, Sandeman clearly positions itself as the global brand for Port and Jerez, proudly signing: “Sandeman, Famous for Pleasure.” (illustrative image only)
