This Scalab Syrah Reserva seems to have had a little adventure in the cellar – eight days on stainless steel followed by twenty days of maceration, topped off with a touch of malolactic fermentation in new French oak barrels. The result is a wine with a colour that’s quite surprising for the Tejo region, bursting with notes of black plum and caramel, and a finish that, they say, lingers like a good piece of advice. Wine critics were particularly impressed, awarding it 16.5 points – clearly, the wine wasn't bothered by all the attention. It pairs beautifully with a hearty beef roast – a combination you really shouldn’t miss.
