Quinta do Crasto Denomination of Origin Douro The Quinta do Crasto Touriga Nacional is a premium‑range wine, produced exclusively from Touriga Nacional grapes and bottled only in years that achieve a high level of quality and excellence. It has been produced only in the following years: 2001, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, and 2021. Touriga Nacional is a particularly interesting variety in the Douro, bringing freshness and youthfulness to a hot‑climate region. Beyond its freshness, it stands out for its distinctive aromatic profile, featuring clear violet notes and a subtle menthol undertone that enhances its natural vivacity. The variety finds its best balance at medium to high elevations, away from the extreme heat of lower zones. Quinta do Crasto has two plots situated at about 300 m altitude, with different exposures (east, south, west, and north), allowing the winemaking team to find the ideal balance each year for producing this wine. The 2021 vintage will be remembered for producing wines with excellent freshness, very fine aromas, and silky‑textured tannins. A year of great elegance, with enormous potential for bottle aging. **Vinification** The grapes, sourced from the finest Touriga Nacional plots at Quinta do Crasto, were transported in 22‑kg boxes and subjected to rigorous selection upon arrival at the cellar. After total destemming and slight crushing, the must was transferred to stainless‑steel fermentation tanks with temperature control. At the end of alcoholic fermentation, a gentle pressing was carried out. **Aging** The Quinta do Crasto Touriga Nacional 2021 aged for 18 months in French oak barrels.
