Soalheiro Nature is our first Alvarinho produced without the addition of sulfites. The grapes, harvested using organic production methods, reflect the purest expression of the variety and push the limits of its vinification, with the aim of creating the most intense and honest expression of this wine. It truly reflects the “Pure Terroir” of Monção and Melgaço – the northernmost point of Portugal and also the birthplace of Alvarinho. Maintaining the aromatic profile of Alvarinho without sulfites has been one of our most challenging innovations. After three years of experimentation, it has been refined and is therefore our choice for the base wine of the Soalheiro Espumante Bruto Nature. The Nature can be served in two ways. One is to decant the wine, separating it from the fine lees, and then pour it into a glass; the other is to gently swirl the bottle, homogenising the fine lees with the wine, and then serve it in a glass. Either of these serving methods will provide a unique tasting experience of our Alvarinho in its most pure expression.
