This Sobroso, hailing from the Alentejo, is a delightful demonstration of patience paying off. Crafted with Perrum, Arinto, Aragonez, Antão Vaz and Verdelho, it’s a white wine with a distinctly thoughtful character – the hand-harvesting and careful transport of the grapes in 15kg boxes certainly contribute to that. On the palate, the intense notes of ripe damson are beautifully balanced with pink grapefruit, underpinned by a mineral complexity and a hint of white peach and blood orange peel. As the producer suggests, this wine is destined to evolve gracefully, and would pair wonderfully with grilled white meats or fresh fish.
