“Born in the heart of the Alentejo, this Tapada de Coelheiros Garrafeira is a testament to the rewards of patience – a skillful blend of Aragonez and Cabernet Sauvignon. Harvested by hand and with a slow, deliberate fermentation (followed by 18 months in oak and five days of post-fermentation maceration), the wine has been nurtured with care. The result is a deeply coloured wine with intensely vibrant aromas of black pepper, nutmeg and macerated fruits, oddly reminiscent of forest moss. The tannins, robust like the Alentejo soil, are beautifully smoothed by age, and a persistent freshness on the finish suggests it still has plenty of stories to tell, even after five years in the bottle. Perfect with hearty game or a slow-cooked roast, naturally.”
