This Tecedeiras is utterly captivating – it’s as if it’s sprung straight from a weaver’s tale. Packed with intensely vibrant red and wild berry notes, reminiscent of fig orchards high in the Douro valley. Slow fermentation, guided by native yeasts, has sculpted a wonderfully complex aroma profile of tobacco and coffee, all balanced by a refreshing acidity. Produced from old vines – notably the Vinhas Velhas – and crafted with foot treading, this robust and lively wine is an excellent match for a Stiltone Roquefort, or perhaps a decadent evening with dark chocolate and blackberries. Definitely decant this unfiltered beauty before serving; it clearly needs a little encouragement to reveal its full soul.
