The Granito vineyards are situated on shallow, magmatic soils at elevations between 800 and 900 metres. Compared with Pizarra wines, Granito wines are more affordable, fruit‑forward, with a delicate and silky structure. The red wine Pegaso Granito Vinhas Velhas is made from the Garnacha grape (also known in France as Grenache), sourced from organically grown vines. After natural fermentation, the wine ages for 18 to 24 months in French oak barrels. Cebreros is a crossroads between north and south, where the Imperial Way and the Cañada Real intersect. In the past it was a glass‑making centre, and by the 19th century viticulture had become essential. In 1999, Telmo Rodríguez restored the Garnacha vines on the Arrebatacapas slope—the most important slate landscape in all of the Gredos—producing Pegaso Barrancos de Pizarra. Today, Cebreros is an international category, where our Barrancos de Pizarra and Granito wines express the uniqueness of this extreme place. (Illustrative image only)
