The Standish Lamella Stonegarden Vineyard Shiraz is a red wine from the Eden Valley in South Australia, sourced from the Hutton Vale Farm vineyard owned by the Angas family. Planted in the early 1960s using cuttings from the renowned Mt Edelstone vineyard, this parcel gives rise to one of the most emblematic expressions of Shiraz in the region. The grapes are hand-harvested, and fermentation takes place spontaneously, with whole bunches and indigenous yeasts, followed by a period of barrel ageing. It shows a deep, dense red-purple colour. The nose is highly intensive, with notes of cherry, plum, blackberry and other ripe dark fruits, accompanied by nuances of tea leaves, olive and pastry spices. On the palate it is broad, rich, deep and concentrated, combining power with elegance. The tannins are soft and perfectly integrated, leading to a long, warm and balanced finish. A Shiraz of great character with excellent ageing potential.
