This “Titan of the Douro” certainly isn’t for the faint of heart. Born from centenary vines nestled amongst the rugged slopes between 750 and 850 metres, it boasts a remarkably vibrant acidity – a direct consequence of the schist-granite soils where the legendary Tedon and Rauzendo once thrived. Despite the intensity of the grapes – Gouveio, Vinhas Velhas, Arinto, Rabigato and Verdelho – the winemaking is surprisingly gentle, employing extended maceration and fermentation with indigenous yeasts. The result is a wine brimming with aromas of white stone fruit, like honeydew and peach, underpinned by a distinct mineral structure that truly captures the essence of the Douro landscape. Perfect for pairing with rich seafood, cured fish or aged cheeses – this is a wine for those who appreciate the robust power and intricate character of the region.
