This “Trans-Douro-Express” is a bold undertaking – three wines aiming to bottle the very essence of the Douro, starting in the Superior region. The Mediterranean/continental climate, rooted in schist soils and with a modest 300mm rainfall, clearly dictates the vineyard’s pace. Fermentation in concrete, coupled with an 8-month ageing, results in a remarkably elegant wine with a truly vibrant acidity. Perfect with seabass or grilled fish – a veritable “rasteirinho” (a delightful pairing, wouldn’t you agree?).
