Authentic and intense in flavor, this wine is crafted from a single lot of the principal grape varieties at Quinta Nova de Nossa Senhora do Carmo – Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz, and Tinto Cão – with no oak aging, proving that sophistication doesn’t require a barrel. Its ruby hue gives way to a young, exuberant, mineral aroma, revealing a magnificent balance of fruit, dense structure, and alcohol, with an uncommon richness and volume that promises to evolve beautifully in the bottle. Quinta Nova de Nossa Senhora do Carmo is a place of breathtaking beauty in the heart of the Douro, owned by the Amorim family since 1999. The family’s link to wine comes from afar, through their ties to exporting houses in Vila Nova de Gaia via the cork trade; at that time this connection brought a dream to fruition, and the project now rests in the hands of the fourth generation. With a history of over 250 years, the estate showcases a preserved heritage and the original 1764 cellar building, renovated under the direction of architect Arnaldo Barbosa. (Illustrative image)
