Due to its meticulous production and extended ageing, this wine has always been regarded as “much more than a mere stage.” Accordingly, the river‑side cellar decided to dispense with that label and call it Valduero 2 Maderas, a nod to the two types of barrels used in its ageing, chosen to suit the harvest’s character. The house’s “youngest of the reserves,” as they like to refer to it at Valduero, is a red wine with fruity, balsamic and spicy aromas, solid structure, and a pleasant palate.
