Description

A late‑harvest wine made from Riesling grapes, aged for five months in French oak barrels. It displays a citrus‑toned colour with orange nuances, and aromas of peach, grapefruit, honey and toasted almonds. Fresh and persistent, it finishes with a robust structure. The Quinta da Ribeirinha lies in Póvoa de Santarém, within the Tejo region. A passion for wine—and a constant dedication to viticulture—has been passed down through the Cândido family for generations. José Cândido, the family patriarch, began working as a farmer from a young age, with wine as his main source of income. Years later, his son Joaquim Cândido, a medical doctor and viticulture enthusiast, took over, expanding the vineyard, building a private cellar, and adopting scientific methods in production. Soon after, his children Mariana (economist) and Rui (biochemist) joined the team, now overseeing the business, while enology is managed by César Machado. (Illustrative image only)
