One of the most prestigious estates in the Douro is Quinta do Vallado, an estate that once belonged to D. Antónia Adelaide Ferreira, the Ferreirinha, and which still today remains in the hands of her descendants. The Vallado wines were unjustly forgotten and have now naturally reclaimed the lost time. They are wines of great importance in the history of the Douro, deserving to be among the top tier. Founded in 1716, Quinta do Vallado stands out as one of the oldest in the region. It is situated close to Régua, on the banks of the Corgo River. The future of this emblematic estate is in the hands of João Alves Ribeiro and Francisco Ferreira, both descendants of the Ferreirinha, and they are responsible for the management of the company and enology, respectively.
