One of the most prestigious estates in the Douro is Quinta do Vallado, an estate that once belonged to D. Antónia Adelaide Ferreira, known as the Ferreirinha, and remains in the hands of her descendants today. The Vallado wines were unjustly forgotten and have now naturally reclaimed their lost time. They are wines of great importance in the history of the Douro and deserve to be among the top-tier offerings. Built in 1716, Quinta do Vallado is one of the oldest in the Douro. It is located near Régua, on the banks of the Rio Corgo. The future of this emblematic estate is in the hands of João Alves Ribeiro and Francisco Ferreira, both descendants of the Ferreirinha, who are responsible for the management of the business and the enology, respectively.
