Description

The Vallado Alvor is a white wine of great identity, born from old vines planted on loamy soils with granite veins in the Douro. It is crafted from a field blend of ancient varieties, highlighting Rabigato and Códega (known as Síria), revealing the authenticity of unique parcels and preserving each vineyard’s expression. Winemaking focused on accentuating the complexity and character of these origins, with fermentation in French oak barrels of a Burgundian profile and a careful approach to achieve balance between volume, structure, and freshness. Total malolactic fermentation adds a buttery richness and depth, without compromising elegance and aromatic precision. A singular white, with several layers of complexity, that translates the old Douro and the unique identity of its old vines. One of the most prestigious estates in the Douro, Quinta do Vallado was built in 1716 and belonged to D. Antónia Adelaide Ferreira, known as “A Ferreirinha”. Remaining in her descendants’ hands to this day, it continues to assert itself as a regional benchmark, with wines that combine tradition, character, and a strong connection to the territory.
