The aromas are intensely nutty, leaning towards toasted almonds, underpinned by a subtle spice that really encourages you to savour the moment. On the palate, it’s wonderfully smooth, as if lovingly caressed by time, displaying a remarkable balance, likely reflecting a respect for the ‘Vinhas Velhas’ grapes and their distinctive terroir. Seriously, it pairs brilliantly with a mature cheese and, dare I suggest, a classic Bacalhau à Brás?
