This Vidigueira Reserva is a seriously impressive Syrah. The deep ruby colour hints at a burst of ripe black fruit, with a lovely herbaceous, balsamic note – a nod to the region’s folklore. It’s a remarkably smooth wine, with the fruit and the new French oak working in perfect harmony, and it finishes with a length that would be absolutely stunning with slow-cooked lamb with garlic.
