The Maturana Blanca is the oldest grape variety with written records in Rioja, appearing in documents from 1622. However, its use by the D.O.Ca. Rioja was only approved in 2007. For this wine, fermentation took place in concrete tanks, followed by a brief period in 500‑litre barrels with the lees, yielding just over a thousand bottles of an intense, very fresh and persistent wine, with citrus aromas complemented by hints of green apple and toasted notes.
