Vineadouro Reserva tinto is crafted from a blend of traditional Douro grape varieties, including Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz and Touriga Franca, complemented by other varieties from the estate’s old vines. After about 12 months of maturation in French oak barrels, it displays a deep ruby hue and aromas of blackberry, black cherry and faint vegetal nuances. On the palate it reveals oak notes that are well integrated with the fruit, giving this wine excellent acidity, structure and a spiced character, making it an ideal match for traditional Portuguese cuisine. The Vineadouro estate is a centuries‑old property with unique characteristics in the Upper Douro region. Located between the historic Castle of Numão and the sublime Douro of Miguel Torga, it offers tranquility and stunning scenery. Having belonged to the same family since the 18th century, the current heirs – Cristina, Carlos, Teresa, Joana, Filipa, Inês, and Diogo – represent two generations tied to the estate’s destiny. Since 2014, the family’s passion and dedication led to the restoration of all existing rustic buildings on the property, as well as the rejuvenation of the surrounding area, which includes vineyards, olive groves, almond trees and forest. In 2020, wine production resumed and the Vineadouro brand was launched. (illustrative image)
