This Vinhas da Teixuga is a truly intriguing project – a blend of 2016, 2017, and 2018 vintages that seems to have defied all odds. The resulting white is a remarkably inviting golden hue, brimming with the characteristic notes of alperce alongside subtle, smoked nuances. The extended French oak aging, particularly utilising the “bâtonnage” technique, lends a graceful elegance and impressive longevity. Definitely a wine that lingers in the memory – perhaps best enjoyed with a particularly good aged cheese, or, if you’re feeling particularly dramatic, alongside a well-deserved divorce.
