Vista Alegre Viticultura: Originating from Quinta da Vista Alegre in Cima Corgo, from vines over 80 years old planted on ancient terraces with predominantly southern exposure. Vinification: The grapes, hand‑picked into small crates, come from a single harvest and follow the traditional Port wine production method. After partial destemming, they are stomped by foot in stone vats. Fermentation takes place under temperature control and is stopped by adding wine brandy, leaving a wine with great ageing potential. Stage: Aged in large wooden casks, it can be bottled between the 4th and 6th year. Stored under ideal conditions, it has a bottle‑age potential of up to 20 years. Pairing: It pairs magnificently with a variety of cheeses and rich chocolate, cream and coffee desserts, as well as fresh fruit, red fruit, woodland fruit, plums and pineapple. It also complements ham and smoked meats. After opening, it should be consumed within a few days, as pre‑bottling aeration was limited. After opening and, if necessary, decanting, the wine reaches its peak but will lose freshness over time. Storage: This is a traditional “unfiltered” LBV, not cold‑stabilised nor filtered. The natural cylindrical cork is similar to a Vintage Port. The bottle should be kept horizontal, at a constant temperature and away from intense light. Over the years, sediment may form, so it should be opened and decanted carefully before serving.
