Cartuxa — Fundação Eugénio de Almeida

Cartuxa is the flagship wine of Fundação Eugénio de Almeida — an institution that has managed a vast cultural and agricultural estate around Évora since 1963, including the former monastery that gives the wine its name. The visit to the Wine Centre in Évora combines a tour of the historic cellars, tastings of the Cartuxa, Pêra-Manca (the legendary wine, made only in exceptional vintages) and EA ranges, plus a historic-cultural circuit that reflects the Foundation's heritage dimension. One of the most serious wine-tourism visits in the Alentejo.

A Cartuxa é o vinho-bandeira da Fundação Eugénio de Almeida, instituição que gere desde 1963 um vasto património cultural e agrícola em torno de Évora; o nome vem do antigo Convento da Cartuxa.
