Starting out in the Port wine market as a merchant, he quickly established a business that would prove prosperous and enduring. Thus, in the fifth generation, Dirk Niepoort was born—a prominent figure in the world of wine, recognized as one of the most important personalities who has worked, and continues to work, for Portuguese wine. He has collaborated with dozens of producers, helping them improve their wines and better understand their vineyards, while also shaping his own legacy alongside those who constantly create irreverent wines. Today, Dirk Niepoort is involved in many other projects, across virtually all Portuguese wine regions and several abroad. The bottling year may not match the image presented.
