Nothing could deter Jorge Serôdio Borges and Sandra Tavares da Silva from one day making their own wine, a product of their professional experience and their relationship. This talented couple founded Wine & Soul in 2001, at the same time acquiring 2.5 hectares of old vines, more than 70 years old and with dozens of varieties, which would give rise to their first wine, named Pintas. The name was chosen because both of them would return home with countless splashes of must on their T‑shirts after a day in the vineyard or at the cellar. Today, Pintas is one of the biggest stars of the Portuguese wine firmament and a true symphony of old vines. The couple’s aim is to create wines that fully express the character of the old vines and indigenous Douro varieties, seeking balance between concentration, complexity, and elegance.
