In 1730, Henry Burmester and John Nash founded Burmester & Nash in London, initially a grain‑trading house. By 1750 they were already exporting Port from Vila Nova de Gaia to Europe and the British Isles. Across generations they have distinguished themselves with the rigor and expertise devoted to Port, elevating the Burmester name to the highest levels of quality and international acclaim. Burmester is a true harvest specialist, regularly releasing magnificent vintages at its disposal. Their Vintage Ports remain of exceptional quality, shining in the finest years. At the close of the millennium, Burmester was acquired by the Sogevinus Group, which continues to preserve the legacy of brands founded five centuries ago.
