In 1730, Henry Burmester and John Nash founded Burmester & Nash in London, dedicated to the grain trade. Later, in 1750, already in Vila Nova de Gaia, they began exporting Port wine to Europe and the British Isles. From generation to generation, they stood out for the rigor and expertise they devoted to Port, raising the Burmester name to the highest level of quality and international recognition. Burmester can be seen as a specialist in harvests, with magnificent harvests at its disposal that it releases regularly. Yet their Port Vintages remain of excellent quality, showcasing their splendour in outstanding vintage years. At the turn of the millennium, Burmester was acquired by the Sogevinus Group, which continues to immortalise brands created five centuries ago. The bottling year may not match the image shown.
