This wine from the Douro, courtesy of Adega Vila Real, feels plucked straight from a fairytale. It’s brimming with ripe black fruit, very much thanks to the Touriga Nacional, and a subtle herbaceousness hinting at those elegant Bordelaise influences – a beautiful blend of Castas. Remarkably structured and with serious ageing potential, proven by its Excellence Recognition award in *Revista de Vinhos de Portugal*, it’s a wine that’s only going to get better with age. Perfect with a good, grilled beef, naturally.
