Alcateia White is made exclusively from Arinto and Perrum grapes sourced from the Retortinha Estate in northern Alentejo. The vineyards, planted at about 200 metres above sea level on slate soils with vertical cleavage, give rise to a wine that reflects the authenticity and unique character of this terroir. It displays a lemon‑yellow hue and an aroma dominated by citrus notes and delicate floral nuances. On the palate it reveals elegance, excellent freshness, and good body, delivering a balanced and harmonious structure. The finish is long and persistent, highlighting the identity and expression of the grape varieties that give it life. The Retortinha Estate is a family‑run project located in the municipality of Sousel, in Portalegre, where a high‑altitude Alentejo with distinctive characteristics produces wines of strong identity. Since 2015, the family has devoted itself to interpreting this territory with respect for nature, preserving the balance between the vineyard, biodiversity, and the surrounding landscape.
